About The Position
Friendship is hiring a full-time Dietary Aide for its Friendship Health and Rehab South team in Roanoke, Virginia. The Dietary Aide provides food service to residents, guests, and employees under sanitary conditions and assists with dietary functions in accordance with established policies and procedures. Available shifts are varied morning shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and an afternoon shift from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All listed shifts include every other weekend. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch throughout the day.
- Ability to frequently lift or move objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Food service experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Correctly and safely use kitchen equipment and utensils for food preparation, service, and cleaning.
- Follow facility policies and procedures and applicable food safety and sanitation laws and regulations.
- Prepare residents’ meal trays according to each resident’s diet list, ensuring meals are complete and meet individual requirements and requests under diet orders, including pureed diets.
- Deliver meals promptly and according to schedule.
- Keep the kitchen clean and sanitized daily, including before breaks and before leaving for the day.
- Label food products for proper storage according to regulations.
- Assist with dietary functions as directed.
