About The Position

Performs a variety of duties in preparing, distributing, and cleaning up of food for patients and staff. This includes serving hot food to staff in the cafeteria, cleaning equipment and the general work area, maintaining a sanitary and orderly work area, and being responsible for patient menus.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Minimum of 2 years work experience
• Able to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
• Good motor coordination and manual dexterity are required for various work routings such as preparing food items, serving trays, handling dishes, and operating dietary equipment.

Nice To Haves

• previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs defined work routines, using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Registered Dietician.
• Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation and/or service of meals.
• Meets scheduled meal and snack times; ensures trays are delivered timely, properly, and accurately.
• Assists in arranging tray cards, loading food carts, and serving meals.
• Follow Federal and State dietary regulations; ensure adherence to Facility dietary policies and procedures.
• Washes and store dishes.
• Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Other related duties as assigned.
