About The Position

Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a 5-star rated nursing home providing compassionate care to older adults since 1943, is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their close-knit team. This is a per diem (PRN) position where you choose your own schedule. The Dietary Aide will assist in the preparation, presentation, and distribution of freshly prepared meals from a professional kitchen. The department prides itself on training, supporting, and developing team members, with opportunities for internal promotion.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age.
A positive, upbeat attitude and the ability to cooperate with others in a fast-paced environment.
Strong and courteous customer service skills, to work within a diverse workforce while providing service to our residents, family members, vendors, and coworkers.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Work at least 2 shifts per month.
Work 2 Holidays – per year.
Keep all training requirements up-to-date.

Nice To Haves

Prior cooking experience helpful, but not essential.
Prior experience in healthcare, food service or related field preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist cooks in the preparation of food, as needed.
Coordinate with team members for meal service periods.
Follow residents' individualized meal plans by ensuring all items are present for meal service.
Follow standardized recipes and specialized recipes to adhere to all specialized diets.
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely according to training and experience.
Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, and appliances.
