About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital is seeking a Dietary Aide to join Nutrition Services. The role supports patient wellbeing and dining experiences by helping ensure patients receive nutritious meals. The Dietary Aide also assists with food service for cafeteria guests and catered events, following department standards and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience in food service.
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to talk and hear.
• Ability to frequently sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties to ensure proper distribution of prepared foods to patients, cafeteria guests, and catered events.
• Set up and deliver patient trays and nourishments accurately.
• Distribute correct portions of food and beverages.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of specific therapeutic diets.
• Follow department standards and procedures.
• Use and rotate food products, store leftovers appropriately, and label and date food items.
• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
