About The Position

The Dietary Aide I works in Nutrition Services at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio. The role helps ensure patients receive nutritious meals that support their wellbeing and contribute to a positive dining experience. The Dietary Aide also supports food distribution to patients, cafeteria guests, and catered events while following department standards and procedures.

The position works nights on a 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. schedule. Duties include setting up and delivering patient trays and nourishments, portioning food and beverages, applying knowledge of therapeutic diets, and handling food products and leftovers appropriately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience in food service.
• Regularly stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to talk and hear.
• Frequently sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties to ensure proper distribution of prepared foods to patients, cafeteria guests, and catered events.
• Accurately set up and deliver patient trays and nourishments.
• Distribute correct portions of food and beverage items.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of specific therapeutic diets.
• Follow department standards and procedures.
• Utilize and rotate food products; appropriately store leftovers and label and date food items.
• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
