Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of food production, preparation, serving, and sanitation practices
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy meal periods
- Experience with dietary departments or food service roles is advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Basic understanding of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform cleaning or bussing duties as needed
Responsibilities
- Assist with food production and meal preparation, following established recipes and safety guidelines
- Serve meals to residents with friendly customer service, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of the dietary department by cleaning kitchen equipment, dishes and utensils, and dining areas in accordance with sanitation standards
- Support food handling procedures to promote food safety and prevent contamination
- Buss tables, clear trays, and assist with dishwashing to uphold a hygienic dining environment
- Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision to support daily meal service needs
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health regulations
