Dietary Aide/Assistant-Part Time Varied-Temecula Valley Hospital
About The Position
This is an entry-level position where duties include answering a high volume of phones, assisting patients, guests, and customers in placing meal orders via a computer order entry program. Familiarity with computers, multi-tasking, and exceptional customer service are required. Other duties involve assisting in the kitchen with meal tray assembly, prep areas, and daily cleaning assignments. Essential job duties include the ability to understand modified diet restrictions, operate food service equipment, operate computer hardware and software systems, and perform simple math. The role requires knowledge of daily kitchen operations, safe food handling techniques, and sanitary food preparation skills. Additionally, the ability to instruct and supervise others, make decisions, and adapt to changes is necessary.
Requirements
- Must be familiar with computers
- Must possess multi-tasking skills
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills
- Certification in Food Service Sanitation by the Department of Health and/or ServSafe Certification required
Nice To Haves
- At least two years food service experience in an acute care facility preferred
- DSS certification or Diet Tech certification preferred
- Strong interest in nutrition or nutrition-related field and/or some college coursework in nutrition completed
