About The Position

AdCare of Rhode Island, part of American Addiction Centers, is seeking a Dietary Aid to join their team. AdCare Rhode Island is a 59-bed inpatient alcohol and drug treatment center dedicated to providing quality, compassionate, and innovative care to adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. The facility is located on 22 acres of woodland in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and features semi-private rooms, a fitness center, and a basketball court.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in food production required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Serve Safe Certificate preferred.
  • Experience in preparing and serving food in an institutional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, food preparation equipment and utensils.
  • Mop floors and clean surfaces as required.
  • Ensure appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment.
  • Prepare food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times.
  • Clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation, dishwasher, refrigerators, ovens, etc.
  • Support, cooperate with, and implement specific procedures for quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests; when applicable.
  • Use chemicals properly on equipment.
  • Check ice machine and monitor beverage levels during every mealtime.
  • Store leftovers properly to prevent contamination.
  • Clean worktables, storage areas, and equipment.
  • Use proper methods and cooking temperatures to prevent contamination, spoilage, and waste.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Take daily food and equipment temperatures.
  • Wipe down all countertops, tables, and chairs in the dining hall.
  • Wash all dishes, glassware, flatware, utensils using commercial dishwasher.
  • Clean all work surfaces as needed.
  • Remove trash and clean trash cans as needed.
  • Stock supplies and equipment in appropriate areas.
  • Maintain clean dishes, utensils or cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Receive and store supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
