Requirements

  • 1 Year Hospital food service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HealthCare standard diets
  • Servsafe certified a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work various trayline positions under the supervision of the Food and Nutrition Management team.
  • Visit patients for menu selections.
  • Ensure tray accuracy, diet accuracy, and timeliness of service.
  • Clean assigned work areas, including sweeping and mopping floors and refrigerators.
  • Restock food and non-food supplies in work areas.
  • May prepare patient snacks and/or deliver snacks/supplies to patient care units.
  • Remove garbage and boxes from the department per policy and procedure.
  • Record temperatures of food, freezers, and refrigerators daily.
  • Work in the dish room, with pots and pans, and on the trayline as necessary.
  • May deliver trays to patients as needed.
  • Sweep and mop floors in the serving and dining areas.
  • May be cross-trained for other positions within the department.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills in all interactions with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, hospital and supervisory staff.
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and call a stroke alert overhead.
  • Verbalize the stroke alert process.
  • Maintain currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 1-hour online training.
