About The Position

The Diet Office Representative is responsible for demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills at the point of service and in the resolution of complaints, concerns, and questions. This role utilizes basic diet therapy training to assist patients in selecting correct menu items as needed. The representative performs essential office tasks such as printing reports, processing requisitions, and entering menus in an appropriate and timely manner. Maintaining food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards is crucial, as is maintaining a clean and orderly work area in compliance with health department and facility requirements. Additionally, the role involves serving patient meals, assisting with set-up, and preparing snacks accurately and timely according to procedures. The representative returns to the patient room within a reasonable period to pick up dirty trays and confirm patient satisfaction, while also complying with hand hygiene, patient identification, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req
  • 1 Year in food service position or applicable customer service Req
  • FHC - Food Handlers Certificate 30 Days Req

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills at point of service and in resolution of complaints/concerns/ questions.
  • Utilize basic diet therapy training to assist patients in selecting correct menu items as needed.
  • Perform needed office tasks in an appropriate and timely manner. Prints reports, process requisitions and enter menus.
  • Maintain food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards in the performance of all duties.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area, ensuring compliance with health department and facility requirements.
  • Serve patient meals, assist with set up and prepare snacks accurately and timely according to procedures.
  • Return to the patient room within a reasonable period of time to pick up dirty tray and to confirm satisfaction with the patient.
  • Comply with hand hygiene, patient identification, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
