The Food Services Rep oversees all daily activities that take place in the tray-line, dish-room, and patient care areas necessary in the preparation and serving of all patient meals and nourishments. Must follow standard precautions. This position will work primarily in the diet office, acting as a critical link between medical staff, patients, and the kitchen. You will process diets, assist patients with menu selection, and ensure all meals adhere to specific nutritional restrictions and medical requirements. Key responsibilities include menu management, patient and Caregiver communication, kitchen coordination, tray tracking, and clerical & quality control. During down times, this position may assist in other areas of the food services operation as described in this job summary.

Requirements

Sufficient education to read, write, comprehend, and carry out directions

Nice To Haves

6 months of work experience related to menu categories, tray checking, equipment, and operation procedures

Responsibilities

Ensures all food items, supplies and serving utensils are obtained as necessary for tray assembly
Assembles trays per patient menu selections and standard portions as specified
Delivers trays and food carts within the established time frames
Supervises delivery and retrieval of patient meals, including late trays
Communicates with nursing staff concerning any issues relevant to patient meal service and takes appropriate action
Menu management
Patient and Caregiver communication
Kitchen coordination
Tray tracking
Clerical & quality control
Assist in other areas of the food services operation during down times
