About The Position

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Diet Aide to join their team. This role involves preparing and assembling cold food items, nourishments, and assisting with food delivery and kitchen sanitation. The position requires weekdays and rotating weekends.

Requirements

• Basic math skills and ability to calculate numbers.
• Ability to read and comprehend recipes and menus.
• Basic understanding of nutrition.
• Team mentality and willingness to assist with all kitchen duties outside of cooking as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble cold side dishes for patient trays according to recipe compliance, using dietary production sheets.
• Arrange cold items attractively and appealingly on trays using tray assembly as a template.
• Prepare and assemble house and supplemental nourishments, label them appropriately, and deliver them to the respective units.
• Handle and transport food trucks to and from respective wings, and return them to the kitchen after meal service.
• Arrange dirty wares in the carrier unit for washing machine operation.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area throughout the day, adhering to all sanitation guidelines authorized by the DPH and Infection Control policies and standards.
• Wash floors and assist with other kitchen duties as indicated by work volume or flow.
• Remove accumulated trash from kitchen workstations and dispose of it appropriately according to department policy and procedures.
• Perform dishwashing duties as assigned.
