About The Position

Cox Fleet keeps your fleet moving! Cox Fleet is the leading provider of on-site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide, offering mobile on-site fleet service for light medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Cox Fleet also services customers utilizing its 50+ nationwide service centers; each offering accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair. We are supported by a 24/7 in-house call-center and provide scheduled maintenance services and unscheduled services to fleets anywhere, anytime. This is an opportunity for a career as a Diesel and Trailer Technician through the FleeTec Academy, a paid educational program that leads to a path to becoming a full-time Diesel and Trailer Technician. The program provides free education on fundamentals of Diesel and Trailer Repair, a set of hand tools with toolbox, and paid training. Upon completion of the initial classroom phase, you will be paired up with a Lead Technician for hands-on training and offered a full-time job as a Mobile Mechanic. Mobile Technicians are assigned a state-of-the-art vehicle to perform vehicle repairs at our customers’ locations, focusing on preventative maintenance and general repairs onsite. The program includes 5 weeks of paid classroom training with all travel expenses, hotel accommodation, and a stipend for meals paid by the company. Additional training and pay progression will be available.

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Diesel and Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard.
  • Ability to dedicate 5 weeks away from home for training.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be 21 to drive one of our trucks.
  • Background checks, driving records checks, pre-employment drug testing and physical.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle repairs at customer locations.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance.
  • Perform general repairs onsite.
  • Study hard for five (5) weeks of full-time schooling at the Academy Campus.
  • Undergo further hands-on training with a Lead Technician.
  • Participate in periodic classroom study for continued skill development.
