About The Position

The Transit Diesel Technician is responsible for the safe, timely repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty transit vehicles, passenger vehicles, and other fleet vehicles used in transporting passengers to specific destinations within the City of Fayetteville Arkansas. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • Completion of required education or training along with the required license or certification (appropriate military service training or Diesel Truck Technician certification) OR at least five years of experience in vehicle maintenance or a related field
  • Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or advanced specialized or technical training
  • Commercial Driver’s License
  • ASE Certification
  • At least one year of heavy truck/ transit maintenance experience
