About The Position

The Transit Diesel Technician is responsible for the safe, timely repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty transit vehicles, passenger vehicles, and other fleet vehicles used in transporting passengers to specific destinations within the City of Fayetteville Arkansas. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
  • Completion of required education or training along with the required license or certification (appropriate military service training or Diesel Truck Technician certification).
  • At least five years of experience in vehicle maintenance or a related field.
  • Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or advanced specialized or technical training.
  • Commercial Driver’s License.
  • ASE Certification.
  • At least one year of heavy truck/ transit maintenance experience.
