About The Position

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing their fleet of trucks and other diesel-powered equipment. The position requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Coastal Waste & Recycling is a growing, privately owned, locally operated solid waste disposal and recycling company headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, serving communities across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Requirements

Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in the waste management industry
Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

ASE Certification preferred

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic tests on garbage trucks and other diesel-powered equipment to identify issues
Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations
Repair or replace defective parts in engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and braking systems
Use hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment to perform repairs
Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs.
Maintain detailed records of all services and repairs performed
Ensure all vehicles are compliant with DOT regulations, including brake maintenance and inspections
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
