About The Position

The Assembly, Integration, and Test Focus factory at L3Harris is looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to work in the Vibration Lab. This position will perform a variety of operations including instrumenting a variety of complex electromechanical space flight components, performing compression/strain testing on materials, and performing periodic maintenance/troubleshooting on electrodynamic shakers. This role involves working directly with engineers on the design and development of new and existing products, to optimize design for manufacturability and testability.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high reliability, aerospace products test and verification
  • Experience with instrumenting and/or operating for compression/strain testing (MTS/Instron machines)
  • Experience with AeroPro FlexTest, FlexDAQ systems
  • Experience with vibration control systems or hardware
  • Experience working in a clean room with ESD and contamination sensitive flight hardware
  • Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline in the Aerospace or Defense industry
  • Currently certified to IPC, JSTD, or comparable NASA certifications
  • Current SSBI with Polygraph
  • Familiar with MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fully proficient support individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to help develop Dynamics Lab test procedures
  • Execute Dynamics Lab compression/strain testing and author reports documenting results
  • Install instrumentation for test configurations using schematics, operating manuals, engineering drawings, or other written instructions
  • Assist facilities personnel with electrical & mechanical configuration of equipment for maintenance/troubleshooting
  • Willing to work overtime, shift work (nights) or extended shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Self-starter, working with limited supervision once acclimated to role
  • Able to support multiple projects in various stages of readiness
  • Willing and able to work in a clean room environment, up to and including full clean room suit
  • Strong communicator, written and verbal communication is a must within and outside of function
  • Ability to execute procedures, document results, effectively communicate orally and in writing with moderate oversite
