About The Position

Northwest Beef Express is hiring an experienced Diesel Technician for its Nyssa shop, a clean, organized in-house fleet shop serving a family-owned agricultural trucking operation. The shop has a team of two technicians and is adding another to support its workload. Technicians work on well-maintained trucks and trailers, with a dedicated tire technician allowing them to focus on diesel work.

The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during training, with the schedule to be discussed afterward. Technicians participate in an on-call rotation approximately every three weeks. On-call duty pays $300 per week, with a guaranteed two-hour minimum for each callout.

The role involves handling daily work orders, maintaining and repairing the truck and trailer fleet, collaborating with another technician on larger jobs, and helping drivers return to the road during shift changes. Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on diesel experience.
• A/C certification and the practical knowledge to perform the work.
• Ability to run diagnostics using CAT ET, Peterbilt software, Cummins Insite, and QuickServe.
• Valid, insurable driver's license.
• Reliability, direct communication, and ownership of one's work.

Responsibilities

• Complete an assigned set of daily work orders prepared by the service writer.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and trailers, including engines, air conditioning, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Work with another technician on larger jobs when appropriate.
• Help drivers get back on the road during shift changes.
• Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every three weeks.
