About The Position

Northwest Beef Express is hiring an experienced diesel technician for its Nyssa shop. The role supports the company’s in-house fleet of trucks and trailers in a clean, organized shop with well-maintained equipment and a dedicated tire technician. The position works on a lined-out set of daily work orders prepared by a service writer, with opportunities to collaborate with another technician on larger jobs. The operation runs 24/7, and technicians help drivers get back on the road during shift changes.

During training, the schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the schedule will be discussed afterward. Technicians participate in an on-call rotation approximately every three weeks. When on call, the technician receives $300 per week in on-call pay and a guaranteed two-hour minimum for each callout. The company describes itself as a small, family-owned agricultural trucking operation.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of hands-on diesel experience.
• A/C certification and practical knowledge.
• Comfort using CAT ET, Peterbilt software, Cummins Insite, and QuickServe for diagnostics.
• Valid, insurable driver's license.
• Reliability, direct communication, and ownership of work.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned daily work orders prepared by the service writer.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on the truck and trailer fleet, including engines, air conditioning, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Work with another technician on larger jobs when appropriate.
• Help drivers get back on the road during shift changes.
• Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every three weeks.
