About The Position

Starting Rate of Pay (per hour) + progression according to contract: $31.48, $34.26, $37.03, $39.49, $41.95, $44.04, $46.13, $46.99, $47.83. Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude
• Manual and finger dexterity
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
• Use basic hand, machine and power tools
• Operate test equipment, diagnostic equipment, computers
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical problems
• Associate's Degree in automotive maintenance or the equivalent in combined education and experience
• Possess (or have the ability to obtain) a Commercial Driver's License (Class A with Special Trailer Endorsement)
• Proven safe driving record

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and rebuild motor vehicles, aerial units and associated equipment.
• Make routine repairs to engines, chassis, brake work, tire work, aerial units, hydraulics, electrical and other general repairs on trucks and equipment in the Area Work Centers, at the Automotive Maintenance Center and roadside response.
