About The Position

The Diesel Service Apprentice / Mechanic performs light maintenance work under close supervision and is the first stage of training for Service Technician status. The position supports heavy-duty truck repair, attends training to build knowledge and experience, and maintains an orderly work area while properly handling company tools. This is a safety-sensitive position: working while under the influence of marijuana or another illegal drug may threaten health or safety, particularly because the work involves heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance work under supervision, including preventive maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, and light electrical repairs.
• Assist a Service Technician with heavy-duty truck repair.
• Attend training sessions to gain knowledge and experience.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area and properly handle company tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
