About The Position
Mustang Cat is hiring a Diesel & Natural Gas Industrial Engine Technician/Mechanic for a shop service role in Tomball, Texas. The technician diagnoses and performs repairs on Caterpillar engines and generator sets, from routine maintenance to advanced troubleshooting and rebuilds. The work supports customers in oil and gas, oilfield, pipeline, and manufacturing industries.
Requirements
- Own the tools required to perform necessary repairs.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous mechanic or military experience.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar power units, generator systems, and fuel systems.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electronic, and engine systems.
- Ability to perform diagnostics, repairs, and technical troubleshooting independently.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree or technical school certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel and natural gas engines.
- Remove, install, disassemble, and recondition Caterpillar power units and generator sets.
- Conduct system testing, adjustments, and failure analysis.
- Troubleshoot electronic, hydraulic, and fuel system components.
- Deliver quality work in a fast-paced shop environment.
