About The Position

Rasmussen Trucking & Service Center is currently looking to hire a Diesel Mechanic. This role involves performing necessary tasks to keep company vehicles and equipment in proper working order and condition. The mechanic will maintain and repair semis, trailers, and any other Company-owned vehicles. Responsibilities include diagnosing engine repairs, installing drum and disc brakes, welding and torching, and possessing knowledge of truck and trailer wiring. The position also requires performing routine inspections of Company-owned vehicles and equipment in accordance with Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, State Regulations, and Company Compliance, and completing required DOT inspection and/or maintenance records. The role also includes responsible for proper housekeeping in the garage and yard, and adhering to applicable safety and environmental regulations with regard to the operation of fleet maintenance. Support and compliance with all components of the company’s safety program are essential.

Requirements

  • Must have your own toolbox and basic tools.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and lift up to 50lbs or more.
  • Ability to work from a platform up to 15 feet high.
  • Must be able to work in all types of environment including, heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
  • Must have safety shoes or boots with a minimum of safety toe and slip resistance.

Responsibilities
