About The Position

We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in La Porte, TX. This role is crucial for maintaining our fleet of diesel tractors and specialized equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of critical products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems and a commitment to keeping the supply chain in motion. You will be responsible for expert maintenance, repair, and overhaul of diesel tractors and specialized systems to meet DOT standards and safety protocols. This role also involves implementing solutions for equipment flow and translating maintenance reports into service strategies, as well as collaborating with the team to communicate technical needs and foster a safety-first environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of tractor-trailer maintenance/mechanical experience.
• Experience with a variety of basic hand, power tools and equipment.
• Knowledgeable in gasoline engine mechanics and preventative maintenance.
• Valid Driver’s License (non CDL).
• Must bring own basic hand tools.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two years technical college or military technical experience.
• Familiarity or interest in cryogenics.
• Familiarity or interest in hydraulics.
• Class A CDL with HazMat; DOT brake certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Expertly maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel tractors and specialized systems to ensure all equipment meets DOT standards and safety protocols.
• Implement creative solutions to ensure smooth equipment flow.
• Translate maintenance reports into impactful service strategies.
• Partner with the team to communicate technical needs clearly.
• Cultivate a "Safety First" environment focused on proactive maintenance.
• As required to repair pumping equipment on work sites and district shops to assist in maintaining equipment.
