About The Position

WM is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role offers a safer work environment, career progression, stability, and a focus on employee well-being. The mechanic will be responsible for fixing trucks and equipment that service millions of customers across the USA, using modern tools and procedures for maintenance on diesel and CNG trucks. The position is based in a repair/maintenance shop at the Carson, CA hauling site.

Requirements

2 years of relevant work experience
Tractor Trailer knowledge
Engine Diagnosis
Electrical knowledge
Valid Driver License
Must have own tools
Able to do 2-week training in Arizona
Be over 18 years of age.
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Safety checks on vehicles.
Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Assisting senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
