This role involves performing diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment such as Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders. The mechanic will be responsible for the removal, repair, and installation of various heavy equipment systems and components, including transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, and final drives. Additionally, the position requires performing mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on machine systems like hydraulics, power trains, and engines. The role also includes prioritizing and making decisions regarding equipment repair, maintaining work orders, performing work area inspections, operating mobile equipment (overhead cranes, forklifts, boom trucks), performing various types of welding (Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, and Stick), acting as a Fill-in Supervisor as needed, and training/mentoring other employees. Other duties as required will also be part of the responsibilities.
