About The Position

WM is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for their 2nd shift operations. This role offers a safer work environment, career progression, and financial stability. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will fix trucks and equipment that service millions of customers, taking pride in supporting the local community. You will work on equipment requiring a high level of skill, using modern tools and procedures for maintenance on diesel and CNG trucks. The job is located in a repair/maintenance shop at the Bremerton, WA hauling site.

Requirements

2 years of relevant work experience
A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record
Be over 18 years of age.
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Perform safety checks on vehicles.
Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
