D&W is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Albany, NY. The candidate for this position will have a good mechanical aptitude, diagnostic ability across multiple engine platforms and the willingness to learn from our team of skilled technicians. D&W Diesel, Inc. is employee owned, $125 million business with over 350 employees in 8 locations. D&W has 50 years of history as an aftermarket distributor of heavy-duty truck and off-road equipment parts, remanufacturing and distribution of diesel engine components, and industrial products. Requirements
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn and grow your abilities
- Ability to lift up to 70lbs
- Ability to use proper tools and equipment to perform daily mechanical functions
- Good problem solving skills
- A collection of appropriate hand tools to perform mechanical functions
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical or trade school
Nice To Haves
- Diagnostic ability across multiple engine platforms
- Willingness to learn from our team of skilled technicians
Responsibilities
- Ability to perform basic repairs on diesel engines, fuel systems and vehicle drive line components, such as turbo replacement, injector replacement & electrical systems, with efficiency and accuracy
- Upfitting of hydraulic, pneumatic, and pumping systems on trucks. Including installing PTO’s, blowers, and pumps
- Observe, listen, and follow instructions given by senior technicians
- Communicate effectively, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Assist with general shop duties
