About The Position

We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in La Porte, TX. This role is crucial for maintaining our fleet of diesel tractors and specialized systems, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of critical products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, a problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to a "Safety First" environment. You will be responsible for expert maintenance, repair, and overhaul of equipment to meet DOT standards and safety protocols, implementing solutions for equipment flow, and collaborating with the team to communicate technical needs.

Requirements

• 2+ years of tractor-trailer maintenance/mechanical experience.
• Experience with a variety of basic hand, power tools and equipment.
• Knowledgeable in gasoline engine mechanics and preventative maintenance.
• Valid Driver’s License (non CDL).
• Must bring own basic hand tools.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two years technical college or military technical experience.
• Familiarity or interest in cryogenics.
• Familiarity or interest in hydraulics.
• Class A CDL with HazMat.
• DOT brake certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Expertly maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel tractors and specialized systems to ensure all equipment meets DOT standards and safety protocols.
• Implement creative solutions to ensure smooth equipment flow.
• Translate maintenance reports into impactful service strategies.
• Partner with the team to communicate technical needs clearly.
• Cultivate a "Safety First" environment focused on proactive maintenance.
• As required, travel to repair pumping equipment on work sites and district shops to assist in maintaining equipment.
