About The Position

Cox Fleet is seeking individuals interested in a career as a Diesel Technician through its paid educational program, FleeTec Academy. This program is designed to help individuals enter the Diesel & Trailer Maintenance field without the burden of high tuition costs and tool expenses associated with traditional technical schools. Participants will receive free education, a set of hand tools with a toolbox, and a weekly paycheck while undergoing training. The program includes four weeks of full-time schooling at the Academy Campus, with travel, accommodation, and meal stipends covered. Upon completion, trainees will receive hands-on training with a Lead Technician and be offered a full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art vehicle. Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Diesel & Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard.
  • Ability to dedicate four (4) weeks away from home for training.
  • Maturity level to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be 21 years of age to drive a company truck.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks, driving records checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical examinations.

Nice To Haves

  • A High-School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a four-week paid classroom training program.
  • Undergo hands-on training with a Lead Technician.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic.
  • Operate a state-of-the-art vehicle to perform repairs at customer sites.
  • Attend further classroom study periodically to develop skill sets.
  • Maintain and repair light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
