About The Position

Cox Fleet is seeking motivated individuals for an entry-level Diesel Mechanic position through the FleeTec Academy program. This paid educational program is designed to train individuals with little to no prior experience to become full-time Diesel & Trailer Technicians. The program includes four weeks of intensive paid classroom training at the Academy Campus, with all travel, accommodation, and meal expenses covered, along with a weekly paycheck. Upon completion of the classroom phase, trainees will receive hands-on training from a Lead Technician and be offered a full-time Mobile Diesel Mechanic position. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle. The program offers a clear career path with opportunities for raises and continued skill development through further classroom study.

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Diesel & Trailer Technician.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard for four weeks.
  • Ability to dedicate four weeks away from home for training.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be 21 years of age to drive company trucks.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks, driving record checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical examinations.
  • High-School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a four-week paid classroom training program covering Diesel Engine fundamentals and truck repair.
  • Undergo hands-on training with a Lead Technician after the initial classroom phase.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers at customer locations.
  • Operate a state-of-the-art mobile repair vehicle.
  • Maintain a high level of performance and dedication to career development as a Diesel Technician.
  • Attend periodic classroom study sessions for ongoing skill development.
