The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing company fleet vehicles, including semi-trucks, trailers, hydrovacs, crew trucks and related machinery. This position performs preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep equipment running safely and efficiently while supporting daily operations and reducing down time.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of mechanic experience working with heavy trucks, diesel engines, trailers, construction equipment, or related fleet equipment
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize repairs
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and safety conscious
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with operations personnel
  • Must be able to commute to Ault, CO
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Valid driver's license with clean MVR

Nice To Haves

  • Hydrovac equipment experience
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, PTO systems or vacuum systems
  • DOT inspections and fleet compliance experience

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy duty trucks, trailers, hydrovacs, diesel engines, light duty vehicles, generators and other company equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance services including oil changes, brake work, fluid checks, tire service and scheduled inspections
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues to minimize downtime
  • Complete repairs accurately and in a timely manner to support daily operations
  • Maintain service records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance documentation
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all equipment is in safe operating condition
  • Respond to field service calls or emergency repair as needed
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
