We’re looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team at our Hampton, VA shop. The right person for this role has strong experience working on heavy trucks and equipment and can confidently diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues. From body swaps to replacing hydraulic pumps, your days will be filled with challenges, laughter, and a little grease.

Requirements

4+ years' experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses
4+ years’ of MIG and stick welding experience
4+ years’ of automotive electrical experience
Must have own tools
Must have a valid driver’s license
Possess working mechanical knowledge, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
Must pass a DOT physical including drug screening.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to safely perform the essential functions of the job.
Employees must be able to understand safety policies and procedures, read work orders and technical documentation, communicate effectively with coworkers and customers, and accurately complete required documentation.

Nice To Haves

4+ years’ of diesel engine repair is preferred
VA State Inspection License is preferred
Class A or B CDL is a plus!

Responsibilities

Make sure equipment is well-maintained and safe for our customers.
Use Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment diagnostic equipment to research and complete repairs.
Complete preventative maintenance repairs-like replacing or rotating tires and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a thorough and timely manner.
Partner with the service manager to learn new skills using Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment technician training and hands-on coaching.
Other duties assigned as needed.
