About The Position

This position is for an experienced Diesel Mechanic at North America Central School Bus, a role that offers a strong sense of pride and purpose by contributing to the safe transportation of over 1,000,000 children daily. The role involves performing maintenance and repairs on school buses and company vehicles, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and conducting preventative maintenance, brake work, tune-ups, and safety inspections. Mechanics will also test drive vehicles to verify repairs, maintain accurate records, and support/mentor teammates.

Requirements

3 years of mechanical experience
High school diploma or equivalent
CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement—or ability to obtain within 60 days
Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
Ability to work early morning shifts
Basic computer skills
Must pass DOT physical and meet drug‑free workplace requirements

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and company vehicles
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
Complete preventative maintenance, brake work, tune‑ups, and safety inspections

Support and mentor teammates as skill level increases

Competitive Pay Range: $25 - $29 per hour (based on experience) plus NASCB Certification Incentives up to $5.00 extra per hour
