About The Position

ECHO AFC Transportation, the largest and fastest-growing privately owned Charter Transportation Company in Texas, is seeking qualified diesel and bus mechanics to join our team in our Houston facility. We operate a fleet of diesel and gas-powered motor coach buses, school buses, transit buses, mini buses, and vans. The mechanic/maintenance shop operates 2 shifts, 7 days a week, with flexible schedules. Mechanics must be able to work independently and will be provided with additional training programs. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience or technical training working on buses and diesel-powered vehicles.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• High School degree or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Basic understanding of diesel engines, tires, air brake systems, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform necessary preventative maintenance and repair in all aspects, with proper training.
• Ability to read and troubleshoot wiring schematics.
• Mechanics must own basic hand tools.

Nice To Haves

• Transit and Motorcoach HVAC experience.
• Wheelchair lift experience.
• Cummins and Detroit experience; certifications a plus.
• Ford and Chevrolet gas and diesel experience.
• Alternative fuel experience a plus.
• Power-trained and electrical diagnosing.
• Allison transmission experience preferred.
• Advanced complex wiring diagnosing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
• Conduct emergency and road failure repairs.
• Perform general maintenance on electrical, HVAC, brake, and accessory systems.
• Document all work completed and parts used.
