About The Position

WM is seeking a Diesel / CNG Mechanic to join their team. This role offers a safer work environment, opportunities for career progression, and a focus on employee well-being. The position involves working on equipment that requires a high level of skill and determination, using modern tools and procedures for maintenance on both diesel and CNG trucks.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant work experience
  • A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years' experience with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) experience.
  • Diesel and Waste Industry experience also a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Perform safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
