Diesel Mechanic employees are responsible for providing diagnostic and repair services to the company’s tractors and trailers. This role involves utilizing diagnostic equipment, interpreting vehicle computer systems, performing service calls for breakdowns, and conducting comprehensive maintenance on various company assets including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift gates, and light-duty vehicles. The mechanic should possess basic knowledge to diagnose and repair malfunctions in engines, transmissions, driveline, differential, steering, suspensions, fuel and ignition systems, exhaust systems, HVAC systems, and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems. Proficiency is expected in diagnosing and repairing power trains, electrical systems, electronic components, engine items, and brake systems, including ABS and suspension systems.
