About The Position

Waste Connections, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for their Miami facility. This is a night shift position, Monday to Friday from 2 PM to 12 AM, with work required every other Saturday. Previous waste experience is a significant advantage. The role involves performing repairs and preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems, utilizing computer systems for diagnostics, documenting repairs, and conducting safety checks. The position also includes performing service calls for breakdowns and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Must provide your own personal tools.
• Computer experience is required for using fleet maintenance software.

Nice To Haves

• Previous waste experience is a huge plus.
• Experience with DPF Regeneration systems on CUMMINS and MACK trucks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services.
• Conduct inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software programs to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
