About The Position

Rogers Group Inc. is seeking to fill a Diesel Mechanic position located in Vega Texas. This individual will be responsible for performing fixed plant repairs, recommending plant improvements, diagnosing, and repairing mobile heavy equipment (i.e. Komatsu & Caterpillar), and assisting with various production duties as needed. The successful candidate for this position will have a strong background of experience in welding, fabrication, and fixed plant repair work and a strong commitment to safety excellence. Experience or background in millwright type work – metal fabrication, cutting, and machinery repair – is preferred.

Requirements

  • Previous fixed plant maintenance or related industry experience.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed.
  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
  • Must be flexible on working hours and locations with the ability to adapt to different work environments.
  • May be called upon at the discretion of management to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary.
  • Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or background in millwright type work – metal fabrication, cutting, and machinery repair – is preferred.
  • Experience fabricating, cutting, fitting, and welding is preferred.
  • Experience working with crushers, conveyors and screens is preferred but not required.
  • Previous mining/quarry/maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Routine Vehicle/ Equipment Maintenance
  • Inspecting and diagnosing issues with diesel engines
  • Reading and interpreting diagnostic test results
  • Performing routine maintenance work such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
  • Repairing or replacing malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Testing the functionality of repaired machines
  • Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and engines for damage and wear
  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
  • Ordering and sourcing parts as required
  • Operating Equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Other duties as assigned by management
