About The Position

Miller Transportation Group’s Miller Truck Leasing division is hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician in Logan Township, New Jersey. The company is a family-owned transportation business that operates more than 40 diesel maintenance shops and has upwards of 8,000 trucks on the road. The technician performs preventive maintenance, reconditioning, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1–7 diesel tractors.
• A valid Class A or B CDL, or the ability to acquire a CDL with the assistance of the company’s trainer.
• Hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and general reconditioning of Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles.
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes using company-supplied OEM software and follow proper warranty procedures.
• Repair or replace brakes, steering components, and suspension, and perform alignments.
• Replace clutches and transmissions.
