About The Position

Decker Truck Line, a family-owned company with over 95 years in business, is seeking a 1st Shift Diesel Mechanic for their Bessemer terminal. This role involves providing maintenance and repair on a private fleet of well-equipped, late model trucks and trailers with top-of-the-line technology. The position offers a 4 or 5-day shift schedule and a $2000 sign-on bonus for experienced Tractor-Trailer Diesel Techs, with a tiered payout structure. An entry-level sign-on bonus of $500 is also available. The company has received multiple awards for being a great place to drive and for its community involvement.

Requirements

• Computer based diagnostic skills with OEM interfaces
• 1+ Year of Diesel Mechanic Experience; willing to train someone with mechanical aptitude
• Must have own tools; tool lease-to-own program available
• Valid driver’s license required
• Basic computer knowledge for email and work orders etc.
• Knowledge and adherence to DOT/OSHA policies and procedures

Nice To Haves

• Paccar experience preferred
• Steel and Aluminum Welding experience is a plus
• Reefer experience is a plus
• CDL a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Providing maintenance and repair on a private fleet of well-equipped, late model trucks and trailers with top of the line technology
• Processing work orders
• Accurately filling out necessary documents
• Other duties as assigned
