About The Position

Under general supervision, this position will provide instructional supervision to students in diesel equipment technology classes at the Wheeler County Correctional Facility. The instructor will demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures, and effective oral and written communication skills. This role requires knowledge of current in-field procedures, adherence to approved course syllabi, and timely completion of all reports, records, and invoices, along with maintaining an accurate inventory of assigned properties.

Requirements

A Diesel Equipment Technician diploma from a technical college.
Three (3) years' experience in the diesel equipment technology field.
Competencies, skills, and knowledge levels required for the subject matter being taught for diesel equipment technology.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Appropriate professional credentials required for or related to the field.
Credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Responsibilities

Provide instructional supervision to students in diesel equipment technology classes.
Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
Demonstrate the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures.
Maintain proper records, including grade books.
Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures.
Follow approved course syllabus.
Complete all reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner.
Maintain an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
