About The Position

Reyes Fleet Management, 1 of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician B to help with the repairs and maintenance of our tractor and trailer equipment at our Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling shop in Downey. You will also be working on our light duty vans (Ford and Chevy) and MHE equipment. Shift: Full-Time l Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm OR Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm Pay: $40.49/hr Perks and Benefits: Union benefits plus pension Vacation and sick time, holiday pay Tool and Boot allowance Company provided uniforms CDL and ASE certifications incentive pay Annual raises Career advancement opportunities after 6 months of employment Health, dental, and vision coverage including multiple medical plans to choose from.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 1 to 2 plus years of related experience
  • Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds, occasionally lift 100 pounds
  • Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement)
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles

Responsibilities

  • The Fleet Technician focuses on the preventative maintenance of the fleet diesel equipment, identifying root causes of basic failures to perform repairs as needed
  • As the Fleet Technician, you will complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance
  • You will inspect brake systems to ensure that machines are in proper operating condition and make sure that equipment has required licensing and registration
  • You will use hand tools and power tools such as screwdrivers and perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
  • You will examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices
  • Other duties as assigned
