About The Position

Reyes Fleet Management is seeking a Diesel Mechanic A to help with repairs and maintenance on trailer/tractor equipment located at our fleet shop in Caledonia, MI. This is a full-time position on the 3rd shift, working from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday. The pay rate is $32.50 per hour plus a $0.20 shift differential, totaling $32.70 per hour. An additional $1.00 per hour incentive is available for CDL A license holders. The role involves diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing fleet equipment, completing detailed documentation for work orders, and performing complex mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs with minimal supervision. Adherence to all company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, is crucial. This position may require driving company and customer vehicles, necessitating compliance with DOT regulations and maintaining a current driver qualification file, including MVR checks, DOT physicals, and safety performance history requests. CDL holders will also undergo DOT drug screening and FMSCA Clearinghouse reviews. Some travel may be required, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role.
Annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check
Successfully completed DOT Physical
Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years.
CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review

Responsibilities

Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts)
Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable
Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role.
