About The Position

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 1 year of mechanic or maintenance experience required
• Must PROVIDE YOUR OWN TOOLS
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Must have a clean driving record
• Minimum 1 year basic mechanical or maintenance skills
• Minimum 1 year experience operating cutting torch and electric welder
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet
• Ability to bend, stretch, reach
• Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing
• Experience repairing or replacing semi tires
• Experience with brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers
• Experience performing air brake, electrical and air conditioning work

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture
• Receive training as required
• Perform various positions as required/assigned
• Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
• Perform basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tool work
• Perform PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing
• Repair or replace semi tires
• Perform brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers
• Operate cutting torch and electric welder
• May perform air brake, electrical and air conditioning work
• Read and understand assignments
• Communicate both orally and in writing
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
