Requirements
- 3-5+ years of automotive or heavy-duty diesel machine shop experience required.
- Ability to read blueprints, micrometers, and technical OEM specification manuals.
- Prior experience operating manual lathes, mills, and dedicated engine machining equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision tolerances
Responsibilities
- Perform engine block machining including boring, honing, line boring, and decking.
- Machine cylinder heads, including valve jobs, surfacing, and installing guides/seats.
- Operate specialized shop machinery (e.g., Rottier, Sunnen, or Berco equipment).
- Clean and inspect engine parts using magnetic particle testing (magnafluxing).
- Measure components with extreme precision using micrometers, dial bore gauges, and calipers.
- Performing regular maintenance on machinery and tools.
- Working with mechanics, and other technicians.
