About The Position

Southern Oregon Sanitation, in Grants Pass, OR has an immediate position open for a Diesel Lube Tech to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks. This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule, working Wednesday through Saturday, from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional overtime as needed. Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• 1+ year of DIESEL lube tech or diesel maintenance experience (or completion of diesel tech program)
• Provide Personal Tools.
• Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
• Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English
• Ability to follow directions, work safely, and learn quickly
• Must meet position requirements and successfully pass post offer employment examinations including: Background Check, MVR Check, Drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Hydraulics repair is a plus!
• Basic knowledge of truck systems and hydraulics a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs including routine preventative maintenance and repairing engines, chassis, body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, and wheels/tires.
• Inspect equipment and/or trucks for condition, operations, parts and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, and hubs.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Perform required safety protocols while working on vehicles.
• Effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
