About The Position

Case Farms is seeking a Diesel/Garage Mechanic to perform basic Pre-Trips on rolling stock, handle associated paperwork, and drive various equipment. The role involves adjusting brakes and clutches, performing Category C tasks, changing clutches, performing PMs, and repairing hydraulics or hoses. The mechanic will also perform basic welding, change out components, and work with Insite software. This position requires in-depth knowledge of Fleet Maintenance Operations or transferable skills, the ability to provide own tools, and adherence to all safety regulations and laws.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have valid driver’s license (MVR check is condition of employment).
• Willing and capable of working overtime as required.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Ability to work with Insite software.
• In-depth knowledge of Fleet Maintenance Operations or transferable skill sets from similar industries.
• Ability to provide own tools.
• Follow Department of Transportation, State and Federal laws, and company safety policies and programs.
• Must be able to follow workplace safety rules, including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout Tag out procedures, and process safety management-related matters.

Nice To Haves

• ASC Certification (preferred).
• Diesel Certification (preferred).
• 2 years Garage/Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic Pre-Trips on all various rolling stock.
• Performs all necessary paperwork associated with the assigned job, i.e., (work orders, charge parts out).
• Drives various equipment safely on the lot or into the garage work area.
• Adjust brakes and clutches to FMCSA standards.
• Performs all Category C tasks.
• Changes/replaces clutches; PMs all equipment; makes or repairs hydraulics or hoses.
• Performs work assignments with minimum direction from the supervisor.
• Performs basic welding functions along with being able to change out a variety of components related to equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.
