About The Position

National Star Services, a 28-year facility management company with nationwide operations, is hiring a skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic to join a stable company in Chicago, IL 60612. This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity for an experienced Truck Mechanic who takes pride in safety, teamwork, and keeping equipment operating efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Requirements

Skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic
Experience with diesel and gasoline-powered trucks and equipment
Ability to perform preventative maintenance inspections
Knowledge of USDOT violations
Troubleshooting skills for engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
Experience with truck and trailer repairs and general fleet maintenance
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems
Ability to repair or replace mechanical components and damaged equipment parts
Proficiency in documenting repairs and maintenance activities using computer systems
Ability to maintain safety, attendance, and quality standards
Teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
Availability for overtime, holidays, and emergency call-ins

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline-powered trucks and equipment
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify USDOT violations
Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
Complete truck and trailer repairs and general fleet maintenance
Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems
Repair or replace mechanical components and damaged equipment parts
Document repairs and maintenance activities using computer systems
Maintain safety, attendance, and quality standards
Work collaboratively with the maintenance team in a fast-paced industrial environment
Be available for overtime, holidays, and emergency call-ins as needed

$35.00 Per Hour
Biweekly Pay
Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime available as needed
