About The Position

Concordia Wireless is a growing telecommunications services company supporting major wireless carriers across the United States. As a nationwide construction services firm, we specialize in the development of wireless communication sites. We are contracted by major carries to facilitate network upgrades including conversions from 4G to 5G. Surus, our fleet, trailer and field equipment entity, provides essential services to keep our teams mobilized. We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Mechanic to help keep our vehicles, trailers, and equipment operating safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role for a highly skilled mechanic who can independently diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of fleet vehicles, trailers, and field equipment in both shop and field environments. The role is onsite at our offices in Carol Stream. Working hours 6 am – 3 pm CST. Pay Range: $22.00 - $29.00 annually plus annual bonus Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • High School Diploma
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Proficient in the use of all hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to do engine work, hydraulic work, engine replacement
  • Good Driver’s License

  • CDL a plus
  • Associate degree or ASE certificate a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment from top to bottom under supervision from Senior Mechanic
  • Handle simple body work including replacing fenders, bumpers, head lights and minor auto body parts
  • Repair and inspect heavy duty vehicles efficiently and effectively; Oil changes, Tire repairs, and wheel alignments all performed in house with our own equipment
  • Support and diagnose engines (Gas and Diesel), brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering and cooling systems.
  • Repair work on trailers such as axle replacement and hinge repairs and wiring harness
  • Electronic troubleshooting and diagnostic are performed in house with OEM scanners as well as Snap on scanners
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges and power tools
  • Raise trucks and other equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
  • Repair and troubleshoot any major components such as transmission and engine
  • Keep track of all maintenance work on each vehicle
  • Other duties as assigned by management
